What are Event Segments?

Event Segments are groups of people who have taken specific actions on our website or app, like viewing, purchasing, or adding a product to their cart.

These actions show what shoppers are interested in, so you can create more relevant ads for them. For example, you can target:

  • People who viewed a product but didn’t buy it.

  • Shoppers who added an item to their cart.

  • Customers who bought from a certain brand.

  • Using Event Segments helps you focus your ads on the right people, at the right time.

Where can you find Event Segments?

To view all your existing Event Segments:

  1. Navigate to Audiences and Segments under the Shared Library tab.

  1. Open the Event Segments tab.

Here, you’ll see the list of all the event segments you have created based on shopper behavior. For each Event Segment, you'll find:

    • Name: What the segment is called.

    • Size: Number of people in the segment.

    • User Action: What users did (viewed, purchased, or added to cart).

    • Lookback Window: How far back in time we look to capture that behavior.

    • Last Updated: When the segment was last changed.

    • Created By: The person who created it.

Create a new Event Segment

  1. On your dashboard, click Audiences and Segments under Shared Library

  2. Open Events under the Segments section

  1. Click the +Segment button.

Build the Segment

  1. On the next page, you’ll need to fill in all the details to create your segment based on who you'd like to include in it:

    • User Action: Your audience will only include people who performed this action (choose from the dropdown):

      • Viewed Products – Shoppers who looked at certain products.

      • Purchased Products – Shoppers who bought something.

      • Added to Cart – Shoppers who added products to their cart.

    • Brands and Categories: You can narrow your audience further by choosing your audience based on the products people have interacted with, which includes Categories, Brands, or both.

      • Brands (linked to your account; you can select up to 100).

      • Categories (all available from us; select up to 100).

  1. Price Range (optional): You can add this if you want to target people interested in products within a certain price range.

  1. Check Audience Size: Use the Estimated Audience Size tool on the right to make sure your audience is large enough to run a campaign.

  1. Set the Lookback Window: The segment will then include people who performed the selected action within the set timeframe.

  1. Name the segment: Give your segment a clear, descriptive name so you can find it easily later.

  1. Once everything looks good, click on Create, and your new Event Segment is ready!
